August 31 Run

Today's Run

We again had to endure a steamy run, but some relief should soon be here.  Our turnout was a bit light—about 16 or so.  Today puts August behind us!

We had at least one new runner today—a young man named Eric.

Runners reporting in:

Seth

Seth joined us for the first time in a while, fresh from running the Lean Horse 50K in Custer, South Dakota where he placed 1st in the 60-69 age group.  Our congratulations!! Seth will be with us for the month of September as he takes a break from his ultra schedule. Seth reports that he now needs only 9 more states to have run an ultra in all 50.

Colorado Jack

Jack reports that the new house they are building in Colorado Springs is coming along slow but sure, following the two rules of construction: it always takes longer, and it always costs more. Jack expects to show back here early in 2015 for an extended visit and is looking forward to rejoining us then.  We look forward to your return, Jack!

Bob reports from Woodstock that he now intends to be with us for two weeks and is arriving in two days.  We await your arrival, Bob.  Brace yourself for the oven!

Happy Anniversary

Mark was out this morning and sacrificed over a mile of his run sticking with me.  Join me in congratulating Mark and wife Kelly on their wedding anniversary this week!

Arwa and Eamonn took a short cut from running and joined us at Panera's after the run. Not quite according to the rules, but it was fun to see them!

Have a great week!

Jack

A little plug…as a reminder for the upcoming races this fall, St. James Cathedral School on Lake Eola will be opening its parking lots as a fundraiser again this year for the school. The school is adjacent to the start of the OUC Half Marathon (Dec 6) and Turkey Trot (Nov 27) at the corner of Robinson and Hillman Avenues. The lots will also be open for the Miracle Miles 15K (Sept 20). Thanks!!!
