February 9th Run

Today's Run

We had a picture-perfect day to run, with a 54 degree temperature partnering with a bright sun. That was sufficient to draw 21 runners on the heels of several lousy, rainy days this week.   We welcomed Dale to his first run with the group and it looks like he may become a regular. Dale is a guy who has overcome significant health challenges and he had no trouble keeping up with Bob and me for almost six miles.  Welcome Dale!

Recent Race

Congratulations to Kirsty on completing the Melbourne Music Marathon (wonderful alliteration!)  That race had four bridge crossings and Kirsty says it's the most challenging race she has run, given the heat, humidity, fog, the bridges and some scary competition from cyclists along the way.  All that and plus helping a heat stroke victim along the way. Wow!

Upcoming races

The House of Hope 5K takes place next Saturday.  This is the fifth and second-last race of the Running Series.  Hope to see some of you there.

Haley will be tacking a half marathon in Seaside in several weeks and Seth the Ft. Lauderdale Marathon next weekend. Good luck!

Alert

Kim reports that she had her drinks and a cooler stolen from the usual stashing place near the school on Glen Ridge. This is the first such incident that I am aware of. Dylan, since this is your neck of the woods, maybe you ought to look into a neighborhood watch or something along those lines!

Have a wonderful week.

Jack
