February 2 Run

Today's Run

February's first run brought out some 17 or so people.  At 64 degrees and 100% humidity, it felt like summer was back!  Not a bad turnout for a post race run. Mike was back after a round the world trip!  We welcomed a new young runner this morning.  His name is Tyler, and we hope he will join the group.  He's fast, but found company with Jen, one of our speediest runners.

Lady Track Shack 5K

I could account for four of our group completing the race:  Barbara, Rose, Abby and Simone.  Congratulations to Rose on placing third in her age category! And congratulations to Abby, who had a PR!

Altamonte 5K race

Eamonn reported that he finished first in his age group on Saturday.  This was a race for the benefit of homeless children in Seminole County.  In contrast with this morning, Eamonn dealt with a cool, foggy and rainy day. As a recent arrival from Ireland, he probably felt right at home.  Congratulations, Eamonn!

Upcoming races

As previously reported, Haley is training for a half marathon in Seaside on March 1. Wendy returns from honeymoon in Jackson Hole this week and reports that she hopes to do some of her training with us for Grandma's Marathon (her 13th) in June. Seth, who joined us for a spell this morning, continues knocking off marathons and ultras at a feverish pace! Kirsty is training for the Donna Marathon on February 23rd and will be joining us more now that her Galloway gig is winding down.

Have a great week.

Jack
