December 29 Run

Today's Last Sunday Run of the Year

We had a very healthy turnout of some 18 or so people this morning, including some faces we haven't seen in a long time.  That category includes Carol and Mike—nice to see you once again! Also joining us was Juan Pablo, a visitor from Colombia.

We managed to avoid the rain showers for the most part, but had to cope with a warm and humid morning.

I crossed paths with Claudia on Aloma and got the good news that her dog delivered a litter of ten puppies last weekend!  That sounds like a PR to me! I forgot to ask her if she was planning to put any of the offspring up for adoption.  Please let us know if this is the case, Claudia!

Race Reports

I forgot to report last week that Rose and Seth completed the Mt. Dora Half Marathon recently.  Rose placed 3rd  in her age group and Seth and his quartet intoned the national anthem.  Congratulations!

As the racing season begins to wind down, we still have upcoming races.  Seth and Debbie are scheduled for the Disney Marathon on January 12. Helene is booked for the Disney Dopey Challenge on January 9. And Seth, Gina and Simone are doing the inaugural Town of Celebration Marathon in late January.  And Kirsty is keeping a full platter with plans to do Melbourne Music Festival in February, the Donna marathon and Big Sur in April.

Question of the week

Whatever happened to the Ocoee Girls??

Thought for the week

People are often moved to action when they hear stories like my friend Brad's Angel flight to Miami, where every minute matters in a life or death situation.  Brad reports that after reading his story, several pilots signed up for these Angel flights and several people also volunteered to become organ donors.

Happy New Year and Happy Running to all!

Jack
