April 14 Run

Today's Run

Our turnout today was arguably one of most unusual run ever. Over a third of the group got here by air.  We were delighted to have Lytle and Brian visiting us from Chicago. (Lytle has a new job which hopefully will bring her back our way on business occasionally).  Congratulations, Lytle! Next we had Fraser and Russell visiting from Scotland and Joel from Terra Haute Indiana.  Joel is fast and got bumped up to run a 7 minute pace for ten miles with Vladmir from the Morris Blvd. group and an immigrant from Croatia!

We were pleased to see Danny for the first time in a while and glad to see John show up for two weeks in a row!  This was John's first run since he took office as member of the Maitland City Council.

So we had at least 21 runners this morning and a quarter of the group came from somewhere else!  No one was spared the muggy low 70's temperature, however.  And luckily no one got lost on the course.

Testifying to the mobility of the group, see Lynne's report from Melbourne, Australia below.

Lynne on the road!

Pentagon Lynne, as I call her, has turned up on the other side of the world!

"I'm running in Melbourne, Australia this week and in terms of climate + vegetation, it reminds me of Florida!  It's great! Last week I ran in Boston where Sean and I danced at the World Championships of Irish Dance. The week before I ran in Findlay, OH (near Toledo) in 6" of snow..... It's been a busy few weeks!"

Hey Lynne, congratulations to you and Sean on your world championship competition!  I think it's time to get you down here soon for a Sunday run!!  Thanks for keeping us in the loop!

Kirsty

This morning Kirsty and husband Jeff are tackling their first triathlon in Cocoa Beach.  Kirsty promised to report in on how they fare.  She has been on fire over this past year!

Our Colorado Contingent:

I've been wondering how Leslie and Jack have been faring with the monster weather you two have been experiencing in Colorado.  Maybe you can regale us with a story or two on this past winter (hopefully almost past!)

Jack, when are you heading our way?  We look forward to seeing you!

Have a wonderful week and please come join the crowd next Sunday.

Jack
