February 24th Run

Today's Run

Nothing like a 32 degree weekly swing in temperature to test one's mettle on a Sunday morning.  I blamed last week's paucity of runners on the cold.  Today I will blame it on the heat, since only 9 or 10 people showed up.  Maybe we can find a Goldilocks temperature that will be just right----like 60 degrees maybe?

The Princess Half Marathon ran this morning.  As far as I know, the only one of the group who planned to run it is Helene.  Please check in, Helene. Hope your injury has healed.

This morning I am headed over to our friend Charline's house to celebrate her 50th birthday.  Charline began running with us over 15 years ago as a novice runner.  She has become a dear friend and now runs with our sister group which starts at Morse Blvd.  She also is two Ironman races along and is headed for Boston and London in the near future!

Kirsty's double PR Weekend

Last Saturday Kirsty PR'd the Pines 5K and PR'd again on Sunday at the Daytona Half!  That on the heels of running Goofy a few weeks ago.  Congratulations, Kirsty, you are on a roll!!  She reports that a number of the NASCAR drivers ran, with all finishing under two hours and Jimmie Johnson clocking a 1:29.

We're proud of you Kirsty!!

Have a wonderful week!

Jack
