December 16 Run

Today's Run  

We had a sparse pre-holiday turnout today—an even dozen by my count.  People's pre-Christmas pressures always play a role at this time of the year.  Those who showed enjoyed a perfect morning for running.  A number of the group ran yesterday's 5K in Baldwin Park and  eight of us are close to tapering for the Disney half, full and Goofy races coming up four weekends from today.

 

Dave reported that a number of the group ran yesterday's 5K in Baldwin Park and "several placed in their respective age brackets including: Marcus (1), Cheryl running along with her dog Pumpkin (3), Carol Sugars (2), Dave Berry (3), and also running were Michele, Mikko & Amy"

 

Visitor next weekend

Got a request yesterday from an out of town visitor who wants to join us next Sunday.  "I will be in the central FL area for the holidays, and want to make sure I stay on track with my half-marathon training. I did some research online and saw that the Orlando Runner's Club meets every Sunday at 7AM at the intersection of Park Avenue and Welbourne. Will your running group be running on the 23rd, and if so, can I join you guys?

 

So if you see a new face next Sunday, most likely it will be Lindsey.
