October 7 Run

Today's Run

Today's conditions did not meet expectations at a muggy 73 degrees.  Things definitely will be getting better from here on. The turnout was healthy—seventeen people by my count. Colorado Jack is in town and joined us for six miles.  Jodie, our visitor from Australia returned for his second run with us prior to heading home.

News from out of town:

Bob from Woodstock VT

Bob called yesterday to tell me that he had some nine moments of fame on his run.  As he crossed the covered bridge a block from his house, the Weather Channel was covering the glorious fall foliage there.  A reporter stuck a microphone in his face to get his words of wisdom.  Bob's fame spreads as he gets national coverage of his run!

Lynne from the Pentagon

"I only ran a few miles each day last weekend, but danced at 3 nursing homes on Saturday (21 dances total!) and at a health and fitness fair on Sunday"

For those of you who aren't dancers, try that routine if you want to improve your anaerobic performance!  I am sure you will find it as challenging as any track workout!

Lytle from Evanston IL

It looks like Lytle and Bryan will be cheering Danny on in Chicago today.  Danny's assignment in Ft. Myers has made his training a bit challenging, so I am sure he will appreciate some familiar faces along the route. (Lytle is a veteran of the Chicago Marathon and last year turned in a sub-3:50 race!)  She and Brian will be back this month for a family wedding, so we may get to see them in a few weeks.

U Can Finish 5 Miler - UCF

I plan to run this race next Sunday, October 14.  Hope to see some of you at the race.

Rich from New York City plans to join us next Sunday.  He's training for his first marathon and has bravely (and luckily) gotten into the lottery for the New York City marathon!  Please give Rich our usual warm welcome.

Last Week's Tower of Terror Run

Our Ocoee Duo, Helene and Debbie had a blast last weekend in their Tower of Terror Ten Miler.  The moment is captured below:

Have a great week!
