October 30th

Today's Run

The last run of the month drew a dozen or so people in a male-heavy group. We hosted a new runner, Carlos, who moved here from NYC.  Carlos says he plans to become a regular.  Also, my next door neighbor, Ryan, joined us for his second run with the group

I was pleased to see Jamie and Arnette back after a several week absence.  Turns out Arnette was sidelined with pneumonia!  He is on the mend and joined Christine and me for a walk, during which he had to endure my sermonette on the value of hydration.

Arnette joined the Track Shack sales force recently, so he's your man to see when you next need shoes!

Christine is now making significant progress after her pulmonary embolism and looks to me like she will soon be straining at the bit to get back to running.  Dede says she had a timing conflict.

Thought for the week:  Why don't those of you who are on the bench consider coming out for a walk on Sundays?  It seems to be working well for several of the group.  It's a good way to both ease back into your fitness program and have the company of your fellow Sunday Runners.

Last Week's 15K

Cheryl sent me a heads up that Lucy also raced last week's Miracle Miles Race.  Lucy turned in a very respectable 1:23 performance.  Congratulations, Lucy!

Near-in Marathons

Danny and Wendy are in the homestretch for their upcoming October marathons.  Danny is doing Chicago and Wendy is doing Detroit.  Good luck to both of you!

Have a great week and Happy October!

Walking during weekends is really my habit. And I am glad to meet someone who have the same thoughts with me. I will be reading more from you.
