Blanket Collection etc.

Blanket Collection Stats

Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who participated in our annual blanket collection for homeless men. The tentative tally is 200 blankets!  Luckily we got most of them to the Coalition for the Homeless before the weather turned cold.

Two-thirds of the blankets came from our multiple running groups in town and the rest from the parishioners of St. Margaret Mary Church.  Track Shack's three marathon training programs accounted for half of the runners contributions.  This includes Marathonfest, Galloway and the Track Shack Store.  Our Sunday runners accounted for over a third of the blankets and the Winter Park Dawgs came through once again.

Thanks also to the key players in this effort including Susan Paul (Marathonfest) Kirsty Walker and Laura Williams (Galloway), Michele Brackett (ORC) Teresa Williams (The Sunday morning "fasties") and Dave Sutton (WP Dawgs).

The Weather

Susan Paul told me this morning that many of her Marathonfest runners who did the Marine Corp Marathon yesterday are stranded in DC because of the storm.  I assume that Leslie also may be grounded.  We wish them a safe return.  Leslie, maybe you can give us an "eye witness account" of the weather as well as your marathon experience!
