Update

This coming Sunday, September 2

Please welcome Dede and Christine back.  They are planning to begin walking for now.  Dede is injured and Christine is recuperating from her recent pulmonary embolism.  Christine is recovering quite well, her spirits are good and she returns to work today.

I had hoped to be there to see them Sunday, but it turns out that we will be out of town celebrating wife Mary's birthday.  Thus I will try to do my long run on Saturday morning.  Bummer!

Expected Visitor:  Please watch for a visitor from West Va.  His name is Bryan Morloch.  Hopefully he will not be a no-show like last Sunday's expected visitor.

Sister Madonna Buder

The "Iron Nun" at age 82, just completed the Canadian Ironman competition in 16:32, thus setting a world record as the first woman over age 80 to complete the distance.  She also had a faster time than two men in their 70's!

Sr. Madonna spoke here a few months back and delivered a very inspirational message.  I want to be like her when I grow up.

Save the Date

On Saturday, October 27, there will be a 5K fun race to raise money for a St. Margaret Mary Church outreach initiative for the troubled neighboring country of Haiti. The race will take place at Mead Garden. (See Flyer attached).

Growing Bolder

If you have a moment, please check out the following: http://challenge.growingbolder.com/your-stories/your-stories-jack-gallagher/

I responded to the Central Florida Executive Challenge with some comments and pictures from Colorado.  To my surprise, my e-mail got posted today. The posting gives our running group some visibility, which is always a good thing for us.

Have a great run/walk this Sunday!

Jack
