February 26 Run
Today's run was the last of the second month of the year and fifteen of us were blessed with a temp in the mid-50's. At least two of our regulars, Helene and Liz 2 were running the Princess Half and Seth is slogging through the "Maniac Gator Bait" two day competition circumnavigating
Dave Berry's 5K time missed!
Dave turned in a great 7:38 pace in last Saturday's 5K. Sorry I missed you, Dave. My hunt and peck system of identifying who ran is at best imperfect.
Welcome to Ian!
Ian has run with our group several times recently and has decided to "join" the roster. Welcome Ian! He becomes the 78th person on our list, about half of whom show up with some degree of regularity.
An Evening of Reminiscing
As a testament to the staying power of our Sunday Group, Bob and I and our wives last night celebrated birthdays of two of our long term friends whom we met as part of the Sunday group. Charline, now a two-time Ironman competitor and fine athlete, and Jackie, who first began running with the group in the early 90's, got together last evening and reminisced. Mary and I consider them to be our "adopted daughters" and love them like parents. Charline showed up in October 1997 and ran her first half marathon two months later with me in the pouring rain.
Happy March!
Jack
