February 19

Sunday, February 19 Run:

We had a good turnout of some 18 runners today with the temperature hovering around 70.  It was great to have Mark back for the first time in a while.  Also Luis' son joined us from Jacksonville.

Run Around the Pines 5K

Looks like at least seven of the group did the Pines 5K yesterday.  Cheryl turned in a respectable 22:30 chip time, and Bob placed third in the 75 age group with a sub-30 pace!  Also saw Barbara, Sarah, Debbie and Liz 2 out there.  Liz showed up on her bike to take roll call!

A British Invasion

We are expecting Marina Odey on March 25. She plans to run an April Marathon in the U.K.  She will be coming all the way from Davenport, so I surmise that this one is dicey.

From Robbie Sargent:  "I am a 39 year old Brit, from Milton Keynes (just north of London) and am training to run the inaugural Milton Keynes marathon on 29 April 2012. This will be my first marathon.

I am on holiday in Orlando with my wife and kids from 31 March to 14 April, and wondered if I could join you on Sunday 8 April for a run? Just to give you an idea of pace, I ran the Bedford Half Marathon in December 2011 in 1 hour, 55 minutes."

Seth:

Good luck to Seth who is competing today and next weekend:

2/19/12 is Five Points of Life Marathon in Gainesville FL.. http://dev.fivepointsoflife.com/2011/11/16/five-points-of-life-half-marathon/

2/25-26 LOST 118 (Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail).  Our two-person team "Maniac Gator Bait" hopes to run around the lake in under 24 hours.  Folks are welcome and encouraged to come down to run, ride bike, or crew for all or part of this ultra.
