Here is a fast update or our race warriors last weekend and a heads up on new runners and an out of town visitor this coming Sunday.
REPORTS FROM OUR WEEKEND WARRIORS:
Report from Seth
"My teammate and I each ran about 58 miles to complete the trek around
We finished in 25:08:17 and were not eaten by any of natures wonders (although we did see and hear a lot of large alligators). The distance was fine but going that long without sleep and being wet and dirty the entire time is hard on the pace especially late Saturday night. Half of the solo starters were not able to finish. Our two-person team came in forth among the five teams including one that was DNF.
This coming Saturday 3/3/12 I have the Mississippi 50: http://www.ms50.com/
Unsure if I'll get back in time to join you Sunday morning and If I'll be in any shape to run that day but may at least see you at the Balmoral aid station.
Excerpts from Princess Half Marathon Warriors
"! I finished the Princess Half today in 2:57 which was over my PR at the OUC in December... However, I probably spent a ton of time taking pics at every mile marker, waiting in line for photo ops with the Disney Princes and other characters. That being said I am super proud of my time and this was the best loooooong run I have ever done. Here is a pic of me with my tiara bling in my Minnie get up with my
cousin Sarah...."
Liz 2's report
I am pretty good with mine as well; I clocked 2:24 which was 2 minutes faster than my last Disney ½. Not a PR for me but I'm good with it. Thanks for asking! I'm happy that Helene is happy with her performance as well.
Meredith will be running the LA
Congratulations to Seth, Helene and Liz, and good wishes to Meredith.
Visitors and potential new members coming this Sunday
I am expecting Cortney and perhaps some of her friends as new runners to the group this Sunday.
Also, we may have Ira, the President of a local running club in the
Jack
