February 12 Run

A mid-thirties temperature took its toll on turnout.  Now there is alliteration for you!!  I counted a male-dominated nine brave souls, two of whom were Kirsty and Kim.  There's some more alliteration!!

Kirsty, a colleague of mine from the past, kindly stayed with me for seven miles and introduced me to one of the formulas of the Galloway Group.  We did a 2.5 minute run and a one minute walk and had a wonderful conversation the whole way. Thanks, Kirsty!

I have to share a neat story which Kirsty shared with me.  She recently was running in the desert in Tucson, Arizona when she came upon an absolutely beautiful large bird with long legs and partly black and white polka dots. She was fascinated by the beauty of the bird and when she began to run again, she finds that the bird is running down the road with her for about 100 yards.  When she finished her run, she immediately went to Google to find out what kind of bird it was.  Guess what?   And I am not joking—It was a ROAD RUNNER.  Really!! Turns out these birds actually do like to run and apparently the one she saw was quite social.  Great story!

Turns out that Bob is fighting a cold, as well as Debbie, Sarah and Helene.  Dede fessed up to a distaste for the temperature.

Hope to see some of you at the start line next Saturday for the Run Around the Pines 5K, or on Sunday (or both)

Have a great week and stay warm.

Jack
