Congratulations to the 22 or so Sunday runners I was able to account for at the 10K race this morning. The identified group was split evenly between females and males. Two of the group placed in their respective age categories. Rose had a first place and Bob had a second place. Congratulations to both of you on your performance. Rose also was the Grand Prix winner in her age group, and congrats for that also!
Hopefully Rose and Bob will be out to do their victory laps tomorrow. We also had a husband – wife team out today. Gina and husband Rich came up from Clermont and ran the race. Rich works in the Pentagon and we last had him out to run with us about sixteen months ago at our 2009 blanket collection effort.
Dave put one of today's runners in touch with me re running with us tomorrow. His name is Doug Morton and he placed first in his age group 35-39 today with a blistering pace of about 5:39 per mile. I fully disclosed that neither we nor the other Sunday groups have anyone who can even remotely keep that pace, but will bring a map for him and point him in the right direction. He and his wife live in Sebring and have a newborn infant son at the Ronald MacDonald house due to under-developed lungs. Please welcome him if he shows tomorrow.
Hope to see you in the AM!
Jack
