Update on New Developments

I don't mean to overwhelm the group, but I felt I should share two items with you.

Letter from Winter Park Mayor Bradley

On March 17, I sent a letter to the Mayor telling him about our Sunday Running Group. I wanted all of you to see this exchange, since many of you may not be aware of all that happens with the Sunday group. Mayor Bradley specifically asked in his reply of March 21 that I share with you his sentiments and appreciation. I am attaching both my note and his prompt reply for your info.

My motive in contacting Mayor Bradley was to bring to his attention some interesting facts regarding the international reach which we have and the benefit of that reach to the city of Winter Park. The fact is that he would never know if we didn't tell him!

Gina's Plan to run the Great Wall of China Marathon!

Gina shared with me that she is signed up to travel to China and run the Great Wall Marathon! Here is an excerpt from her bombshell:

"Actually you will think I am nuts but the real reason I ran the Shamrock is because I will be in China when the Great Wall Marathon is being held and the friend I am staying with talked me into signing up with her.--- I thought I should try at least one flatland marathon prior to 5000 steps, don't you?"

Well--------yes, Gina. I think that was a prudent move to do a warm-up. I can't get my mind around 5000 steps! I guess the math suggests that about half of them will be coming down?
