Happy July 4th!

Hope all of you having a great July 4^th. The Watermelon race had quite a turnout, over 2600 if I got the number right. For many of us it was a family run day. My wife and daughter walked and my 5 year old grand daughter did the Kiddy race. An uplifting experience to see all the families who turned out.

As expected, Chris played a great rendition of the Star Spangled Banner at race start, as we knew he would. His family also was there. Congratulations, Chris, on an inspiring and flawless delivery. Those high notes were memorable!

Saw Jari, Jarily and family. Jarily was serving at the Mile 1 water stop. I know I missed a lot of the Sunday group due to the large turnout. I did see Billy, Barbara, Seth and Lynne (who was visiting from Virginia). Also saw Tom, who was orchestrating the kids run..

Speaking of missing, I will miss seeing the group the next two Sundays and hope that I will see some running scenery in Prague, a few German cities and Paris. I hope to be home in time for the ORC banquet on July 24.

One final note: My son Matt asked me to give his group a plug on the July 10 gig at the Social Club downtown. I am attaching a flyer which he sent me. Unfortunately, I will have to miss it due to our travel plans.
