May 23 run

Fifteen of our group showed up this morning to run in a reasonably pleasant 72 degree starting temperature. I goofed off today and put in only three miles, that because I did a Saturday half marathon training run for the Covered Bridge Half on June 6 in Vermont . Two of our group, Wendy and Kirsty, also were out there. I am hoping that run will help minimize how badly I get beaten by Bob, who just turned 77 this month. Bob is responsible for keeping me humble.

As a possible incentive to get more of you out on Sunday, you should know that we talk about the people who don’t show up.

Reminder: We will have a repeat visitor from the UK , Richard Bruce, showing up for the next two Sundays. He is a great guy. I hope a good number of you can make it out to extend to Richard the hospitality of our Sunday group. Due to the New England trip, I will be AWOL for the next two Sundays.

Have a great week and a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.

Jack

Lol! You do NOT talk about those of us who don't show up! I can't show up. I can't fit in my running shorts anymore. :)

Sorry to have missed you all this morning. I went back over to Melbourne
to continue learning the course for next Sunday's Wickham Park Marathon
and Ultras.

If you've never seen the website and entry form you should check it out.
It's funny. The actual course is not as difficult as the description
suggests but it is easy to make a wrong turn. I'm told it will be marked
next week. Please let me know if any of you would like to join in the
fun. It's free.

Godspeed, Seth
