May 16 run

Turnout was thin Sunday morning with nine people accounted for.(counting Seth's cameo appearance). One reason for the sparse group was a Saturday 5K, about which Liz reports: "The 5K race Saturday was great! Rose placed 1st in her age group, Billy K 2nd in his age group, Liz 2nd in her age group,--- I have a write up on it and will send it later this week".

Congratulation to Rose, Billy and Liz! Please check out Seth's report on his Long Branch NJ shore marathon on our new blog site at orcsunday.blogspot.com. Seth also shared with us his marathon in New Brunswick Canada a week ago. Congratulations, Seth!

Also, congratulations to Gina, who did the Half-Marathon in Nashville a few weeks ago with her daughter and daughter-in-law. It was a real family affair, as Gina's son ran the marathon, but was foiled in his first effort as he was diverted at 21 miles due to the storm. Bummer! Gina just got back from a wonderful trip to Ireland and hopes to join us from Clermont soon.

Finally, I want to give you a heads up that we will be hosting a visitor from the UK. on May 30th and June 6 runs. His name is Richard Bruce and he is a great guy. Richard visited us about a year ago and ran with us then on two successive weekends. Since I will be Vermont both of those week-ends, I would like to get some feedback from the group on whether they plan to be around on those dates. As you know, the ORC 5K takes place on Saturday, June 5, and it may be that Richard would like to do the race. (Richard, please let me know your thoughts on the June 5-6 weekend and we will do our best to accommodate you)/ As you know, I leave town on May 29 and don't get back until June 7.

Hope to see you next Sunday.

Jack
