Tomorrow's Blanket Run

Back to Standard Time

Don't forget to turn back your clock an hour on Saturday evening!  We should be in fine fettle for Sunday's run with that extra hour of sleep.  It's a once-a -year special!

Status on Blanket Collections

We have already collected 80 blankets as of today. Of these, 32 have already been delivered to the Men's Shelter. St. Margaret Mary Church donations account for 43 of them and the Saturday Marathonfest Group for 37 blankets which Susan Paul dropped off at my house this morning.  My wife Mary and I will be bringing 48 blankets tomorrow morning.  I also will be checking for donations from the Sunday Marathonfest group on my way down tomorrow morning.

The ORC already has collected blankets at the weekday runs and Halloween party, I believe Dave will be bringing them along and also collecting and delivering them to the Coalition on Monday.  The Galloway group collection will be delivered by their leader, Laura Williams.

New Volunteer group for our Blanket Collection Drive

The Property Manager of The Woodlands Apartment community in East Orlando (525 units) has asked to participate in our blanket drive. She was planning a similar outreach effort and found out about our drive on line. We can (and I have) thanked the Park Press for this, since they ran our entire press release in their on-line newspaper version.  Their editor, Rick Cable, responded: "Your efforts mean a lot to our community, and I appreciate knowing we had a little hand in helping."  So you all can feel good about what your outreach mean to people who are down on their luck.

Hope to see many of you tomorrow (on Standard Time!! It should be fun.

Jack
