Update on weekend developments

Here's a brief update on weekend developments:

Marine Corp Marathon

It turns out that, counting Geralynn's daughter Jacklynn, we had five of our runners complete the marathon yesterday.  Ben and Mike also ran, and Ben knocked off an impressive 3:51 pace. I was surprised and delighted to hear from Leslie, who moved to Monument CO a year or so ago. Here are some excerpts from Leslie's e-mail:

"It was a beautiful day on a beautiful course. The paratroopers were amazing, pictures of it don't do it justice. I never hit a running wall today because there were 30,000 runners & it was difficult to maneuver around the runners & walkers so much that my GPS finished at 26.75. Next year this marathon is having a lottery so less runners :). I miss my Florida running friends!"

We miss you too, Leslie!  Please come see us soon!

Lighthouse Half Marathon Results

Rose reports: "Barbara, Cheryl, and I did the Lighthouse loop half this morning. Great weather. Barbara and I placed in our age groups.  Hope to see you next weekend for the blanket drive."

Congratulations to all eight of you!

Jeff Hyson

"Just touching base.  I have bone spurs in my left heel so no running for now.  I was signed up to run Space Coast Half but that's not gonna happen now.

Will be back out to run with you as soon as I'm fixed up.  Going to see a foot doctor this week."

Hope you heal quickly and look forward to your return, Jeff
