November 16th Run

Today's Run

Sixteen or so runners turned out today on an idyllic morning to run. David and Atif showed up after absences due to their travel schedules. Chris's sister-in-law Mary

joined us.  She is the sixth member of his family planning to run the OUC Half (Mary also is running the Space Coast Marathon).

The antique car show did not get in our way this year since they moved it to the golf course.  The town was alive with runners of all sorts today, as many people are training for the Space Coast and OUC races.

Looking forward

Blanket Collection:

  • Our seventh annual blanket collection for the homeless is scheduled for three weeks today on December 7.  We urge the ORC to invite their guests from Japan to join us that morning after the OUC Half on the preceding day. We expect participations from several other running groups in town.

  • We will need a volunteer or two to deliver donated blankets to the Coalition for the Homeless.  Dave, will you be available again this year? I know you have responsibilities with our visitors from Japan in that time frame.

Please contact me if you have a truck and are able to help out!  (My cell is 407-647-3521)

Visitors in November:

  • We look forward to seeing some faces we haven't seen in a long time. Lytle and Brian plan to be with us from Chicago on the 30th after Thanksgiving.  And Gina, Lynne and son Sean plan to join us for the December 7 blanket run.

Happy training for your upcoming races!

Jack
