March 10 Run

Today's Run

Today we had to deal with the dreaded return to Daylight Saving Time.  For those who failed to show this morning, it was a great excuse provider (on a par with "the dog ate my homework").  The flip side of that challenge was a glorious sunny morning with a "Heinz temperature" of 57 degrees.

That said, it was a fairly healthy turnout.  We had a group of 15 sleep-deprived participants who left me in the dust (again).  I ran solo because Buddy Bob failed to show.  His was on excused absence because he was at home working on a kidney stone issue.  (Hope you are OK, Bob!)

Since I was on my own, I decided to enhance my run with a new route after mile 4.  I ended up meeting most of the group headed in the opposite direction in Windsong and discovered that Seth and Dylan morphed into the pack somewhere along the way.

Jonathan Hemus – Visitor from the UK:

I received a very nice e-mail from our Birmingham visitor who joined us last Sunday and who is training for the Manchester Marathon (his first):

"I'm now safely back in a grey and drizzly England and wanted to thank you and the guys for making me so welcome last weekend.  I really enjoyed the run, both for the beautiful scenery and, more importantly, the great company.

I will drop you a line with my marathon time at the end of April, and if I'm ever in the area again, rest assured I will be re-joining the Orlando Runners.

Please pass on my thanks and best wishes to the rest of the group"

Good luck, Jonathan.  We very much enjoyed meeting you and wish you every success!

Hope to see you next week.  Have a great one!

Jack
