OUC Half Yesterday
Quite a turnout yesterday! I'm aware of at least eight of the Sunday group competing in eight age groups between 25 and 75, a nice 50 year span! I accounted for Rose (2nd place), Helene, Debbie, Kirsty, Liz 2, Ben, Seth, Cheryl, Ryan (and his wife Allie) Amy, Mikko, Lucy and myself. A nice turnout on a beautiful morning.
It was a very unique and memorable experience to have my grandson LJ complete his first half marathon. He was a trooper and I got to finish with both him and his father, my son John who met us two miles from the finish and took may pictures!
And the ORC had a healthy contingent working the first water stop.
Check in if I missed anyone!
Today's Run
A mild 60 degree start today. I was pleasantly surprised by a nice post-race turnout of 17 people,, including two new ORC members, Tom, Holly (and their infant son Jackson). Now even the infants are passing me!
Happy December!

What terrific weather for running. New ORC members and first time Sunday runners Tom, Holly, & Jackson in the stroller, ran with Dave for 13 miles with a brief beer stop (only Seth & Dave) at Seth’s house courtesy of left over beer from the ORC Christmas Party at Seth & Janice’s last night. If you missed the Christmas party you missed a chance to hear Seth sing, some piano playing by our Japanese guests, Secret Santa, as well as tons of food and refreshments.
For those of you that ran the half marathon downtown yesterday, you might have recognized some familiar faces at the water stop at mile 1.3. At the stop were Dave, Liz, Billy, Tom & Holly, Janice (Seth’s wife), Kerry, and Christine who thought it was a great idea to run to the water stop from wherever she parked her car and promptly wiped out on the brick road thus ending up with some very bloodied knees.
