July 22nd Run

Today's Run

Despite the challenging temperature, we had a nice turnout today.  Seventeen eager runners by my count. Our newest additions—Mark 2, Richard and Atif, were out there in force. Unfortunately, there was no one to keep company with Richard to cover the full eleven miles, so we told him how to add his last mile when he came in on his own.

Christine was back from her injury, but prudently decided to go short until she is totally healed.  Danny, bless his soul, kept company with me to mile two as he was finishing a long run getting ready for Chicago. Debbie is on the medically excused list but hopes to be back soon.

Joyous News from Jake!

"Hey Jack, I am extremely pleased to see continuously great turnouts for the Sunday runs. I have great news to share, my wife and I welcomed our first child, Elijah Llewellyn Richardson into the world last Saturday. I will return to the Sunday run eventually, see you then."

Congratulations to you and your wife, Jake!  Hope to see you soon.

Ian

Ian announced today that he will be leaving us shortly for West Palm Beach due to a job transfer.  Ian, we will miss you.  You were a great addition to the group and we hope you will get back to see us when you can. (Ian was responsible for introducing "Colorado Jack" to the group.)

Seth at Sixty

We had a great time last Tuesday evening feting Seth on his big 60th Birthday. It was an idyllic evening in Windsong on Lake Mizell and Seth and his group serenaded us with their wonderful renditions.

Seth has already headed out for another long road trip by car for 3 marathons and an ultra in IA, UT, CA, and NV before returning home to work in mid-August.

Next he will be flying to VT the weekend of 9/30/12 for the VT-50. He is hoping to catch up with Bob while he is up there. Take it easy on him, Bob!

Welcome Lee and Helen Morris from Australia next Sunday, July 29

Please watch for Lee and Helen next Sunday and give them a warm welcome.  They plan to join us next Sunday and will be the second set of visitors from down under!

Our Colorado Contingent

I will be in Colorado for the next two Sundays and hope to meet up with Jack, our Colorado rep and Leslie, who is either there or almost there.  Hope to see both of you at a much higher altitude!!

Have a great week.  Will miss you.

Jack
