May 20th Run

Today's Run

We continue to luck out with the weather, as we started with a comfortable 69 degree day.  Turnout was 17 people, including Richard Bruce, a visitor from the UK.  This is Richard's third visit with us since 2008 and Lytle hosted him through a brisk run in the 8 minute range!  Richard lives on the Isle of Wight and is a consultant to the London Underground (Read that as the subway system, not a terrorist group).  He plans to join us again next Sunday.

Lytle and Brian

I had heard the rumor earlier in the week, and Lytle confirmed today that she and Brian are moving.  Brian is enrolling in (I believe) an MBA program at Northwestern.  They still plan to have the wedding here in the Fall, but I must say that I will miss them much, and I am sure those of you who know this wonderful couple will feel the same way.  Lytle and Brian, you have our every good wish!

"Coach" Jorge

Congratulations to Jorge!  He and a team of people from his church have gotten a group of 47 people together to train for the 5K in Oviedo next Saturday.  All of them completed the distance yesterday and are rarin' to go next Saturday.  I think it is truly remarkable that Jorge and his colleagues have been able to pull this off in such a short time with new runners!.

News from Seth on the Road

--"I ran MIND THE DUCKS 12-HOUR in Rochester, NY.  It was a nice morning but got pretty hot in the afternoon so I stopped early at 40 miles.  That was the first of a 4-week running tour to NY, IL, WY and WI. Next weekend I have CRUD 8-HOUR in Brimfield IL"

Have a wonderful week and come on out next Sunday!

Jack

PS:  Just a reminder that I would like to get a final count this week on those of you who plan to attend my talk on May 31.  I picked up two verbals at Panera's this morning from runners in the Sunday Marathonfest Program.  That brings confirmed attendees to forty-some.  Hope you can make it!
