Easter Run

We had a nice Easter turnout of 19 people, two of whom did the 5K race yesterday.  Jake finished first in the Age 35 category with a blistering 6:11 pace. Cheryl had another PR with a 23:34 time.  Great job!

 

I have recently decided to boycott races which have only one catch-all age group of 70 years and older.  This lumps four age categories into one and seems highly unfair to elderly runners.  The net effect on yesterday's race is to lump two dozen older runners into one catch-all category. This seems to marginalize our seniors.  Am I off base or should this not be fixed?  Would appreciate your feedback!

 

The photographer for the Winter Park Magazine showed up as promised and took a group picture of us heading up Park Avenue towards the golf course.
