March 20th Run

It was a picture perfect day for our run and for the Art Festival. Undaunted by the challenge of finding parking space, we had 19 people show up. Today was a rather unique group since we had two families represented. Jari and Jarily joined us, as well as Mark and wife Kelly and son Nick who biked the course. Chalk up a PR for number of family groups represented! This added a very nice touch to the morning and gave the group an age span of over 60 years! I love it!!

It sounds like we will have a very respectable representation of the group at next Saturday's Winter Park 10K, the final race of this year's Grand Prix series. This is always a fun race. Each year I have to resist the temptation to quit just past the halfway mark since I come within a block of my house. Hope to see a lot of familiar faces ten yards back on the left hand side, a custom of long standing (which started long before they began putting up signs for expected race pace.) If in doubt, I always err on the side of sociability!!!

Dave let the group know that the ORC is looking for volunteers to man waters stops for the Corporate 5K on Thursday evening, April 14. Please let him or ORC know if you are available that evening. Have a great week.

Jack
