February 27 Run

A baker's dozen of runners showed up today on a beautiful spring morning.  Our ranks were somewhat depleted to a heavy weekend of races.  This is Gasparilla weekend, and a number of the group were there (Rose, Liz, etc)

The only one who has reported in is Jake.  He did a blistering sub 1:05 15K on a hot and humid day, just 7 minutes behind Joan Benoit Samuelson!  A very impressive performance, Jake!!

Thanks, Jay, for pulling me through the last three miles.

On The Road

From Seth:  "I finished my 100th marathon today in Gainesville Florida.  time = 4:10. It was fun for 21 miles then it got hot but it was otherwise a nice day

I'll be gone again next Sunday since I have a 50K in Texas that weekend."

Congratulations, Seth!  I'm exhausted for you!

If I have the date right, Dylan is doing the Cow Town Marathon this weekend.  Let us know how it went, Dylan.

From The International Desk

Billy: "I'm in northern Thailand now. haven't run in over a week may have stress fracture from running on oval track at top floor of hotel."

On March 13 we are expecting a visitor from Winnipeg looking to run 13 miles.  (Jake has tentatively volunteered to help him along if he doesn't do River Run that weekend.)

I'll wish you a good two weeks since we will be out of town next Sunday.  See you on March 13.

Jack

Thanks for your note and udate. I look forward to rejoining the group
next Sunday 3/6/11.

Yesterday I ran a sensibly conservative "Surfside Beach Crazy Hard 50K" in
TX.
(Misnomer. realatively easy lots of fun, 5:58:06)
