January 9 run

Today's run suffered from "the Disney effect" as many of our regulars likely were working the ORC water stop and a few more running the races this weekend.  Would those of you who competed please share your accomplishments with the group?  The only group members whom I am aware of racing this weekend are Leslie (Goofy) and Mark (Marathon), but I suspect there are more who ran.

We had a mere half dozen people show up for a chilly run in the low 40's. Carol was queen of the run, since she was accompanied by five guys.  She again managed to keep Luis' pace, an impressive feat!  Other than those two, only Dylan, Ed, Bob and I showed up.  Carol shared with us that she literally has flown around the world since she last ran with us!  By way of explanation, she is a pilot with UPS.

The good news is that Bob is back from his Vermont hibernation after a longer than usual absence these past months.  Welcome back, Bob!

I was pleased to hear from a young lady this week  who ran with us last June when she was visiting her parents here.  Her name is Chateau and she was then an Air Force Captain based in Stuttgart, Germany.  She recently was reassigned to Tampa and wanted to know if the group was still running.  She plans to join us more often now that she is back in the area.

We hope to see your smiling faces next Sunday.  Have a great week!

Jack

Hi all!!
I know I haven't seen all of you in quite some time, but i just wanted
to report that I ran the Ragnar Relay this weekend with a mixed team
of 11 others. (for those of you who aren't familiar, Ragnar is a relay
race running from Miami to Key West.) we successfully finished the 191
miles in 26 hours and 45 minutes!! It was a blast. I hope to see you
guys next Sunday!

Best,
Justine

Apart from Carol, today's run at the start was a Grand Masters Division exhibition. Luis caught up to us a little after we started.

I finished in 4:02, not bad considering I took off 4+ weeks in Nov and Dec, my body is hurting in places I didn't know I had.

Congrats to everyone who ran Disney, Seth, the longevity is impressive!

I ran the Disney Half on Saturday in 2:09. Mr Automatic, in my sleep, constantly, 9:50 per mile.

Well I ran on the half at Disney on Saturday as well. In fact, my time was precisely .01 seconds faster than Russ! Just couldn't let him beat me! We actually had a great time. The weather was much nicer this year.

I was scheduled to run the full on Sunday as well, but the stomach bug nailed me after Saturday's race and did its best to dehydrate me going into Sunday. Feeling better today though. The rest probably did me good.

Looking forward to next Sunday... Danny

Hi Jack,

I ran the half marathon yesterday. My time was 2:06:26 (chip time) and 2:07:43 (clock time). Not sure what chip time means.

Take care and see you soon,
Alfredo

Congratulations to all who ran Disney, especially Seth who has completed every Disney Marathon, and to Leslie who turned in a very respectable 4:02 Marathon in spite of wrestling with injury leading up to the race!
