December 19 Run

Turnout

Completely disorganized, late and trying to figure out how to dress, I did a bad job of noting who was present. I can safely say it was more than a dozen souls who braved a threatening misty rain which quickly evaporated.

Speeding Ticket?

This is a message for Luis. For two weeks straight, I have received input from your running partners that you ran them into the ground. That would be Carol and Billy respectively. Repeated violations may be a cause for banishing you to the speedier group at Morris. Just kidding, Luis, but wanted you to know your presence is being felt!

The Injured Bench

Liz returned to action today and knocked off a 5K yesterday. Her broken wrist is healing well.

Marty Katz continues his miraculous recovery from his biking accident. Had lunch with him last Thursday and still marvel at the miracle of his comeback.

Michael has gone onto the bench with a meniscus issue which he plans to address and hopes to be back on the road sometime in January. Good luck with the procedure, Michael.

Late returns

Russ reported in last week on his racing adventures. He completed the NYC Marathon a few weeks back with his friend Danny. Congratulations to both of you!

And as if that weren't enough, Russ and Danny also completed the OUC Half in 2:07 and 1:59 respectively. Good job.

Finally, Danny, who has run with us a few times officially joins our distribution list today. Welcome, Danny!

Too good not to share

Spoke to Bob yesterday. He and wife Bev just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last week at the Trapp Family Lodge in Vt.

That's about the only category I beat Bob in. Mary and I passed 50 in August, so I finally got to beat Bob at something!

Get this: Bob just got a Euro 100 check in the mail for his second place performance in the Dublin Marathon! Imagine, prize money! I told Bob I will seek his disqualification in local races since he has turned pro.

Merry Christmas!

Next Sunday is Christmas Day and I take this opportunity to wish you and your families a blessed and happy day.

If you plan to run next Sunday, I suggest you check in during the week and let the group know if you are coming out.

Jack

Yes Luis gave me a good work out today. And two people ahead of us must of ran about 25 miles we never did catch them.
"Merry Christmas"

That was Jake and I. Because the weather was so wonderful I felt really good this morning and did 19 miles.
I am going to beat my sciatic into submission! (right now I am sitting on a heating pad)
