Today's Run
What do you get when you combine a Thanksgiving weekend with the Space Coast Marathon & Half Marathon day? Answer: A sparse turnout (just under a dozen people) who enjoyed a good running temperature.
I can only report partial results after trolling the race results without knowing exactly who all ran. The notable exception was Sultana, who kindly gave me a call reporting an impressive PR Half Marathon time of 1:57. Congratulations, Sultana! Since I knew that Cheryl and Marcus were competing in the marathon and half-marathon respectively, I was able to find their results, both impressive. Cheryl turned in a 4:44 performance and Marcus a 1:57 in the half. And Kelly Anderson did something in the 1:50 range. Congratulations to all of you!
(Problem with the Half Marathon results is that clock time reported was the time of the day rather than the elapsed race time!) That's a new standard in race results! (I finished my run at 8:15 AM today!! What does that tell you?
For those of you whom I may have missed with my hunt and peck approach, my apologies and please feel free to share your successes with the group. (I searched for Seth, Mark and Dylan, but came up empty. Please check in if you ran!)
Next Sunday
The OUC Half Marathon runs this coming Saturday, so we may have a smaller turnout. My running partner today, Christine, will be tackling her first half marathon. We wish you a great race, Christine, as well as any of you who are competing! I am bummed that my ankle is keeping me on the bench next Saturday.
Marty Katz
Marty continues his remarkable improvement and has even begun to post his own comments along with wife Robin. I recommend that you check out his website, particularly if you don't believe in miracles. Tomorrow I will be taking Marty from his home to the Wellness Center where his rehab continues. Marty is on the distribution list for this report, so feel free to contact him.
Hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend and look forward to seeing you on the road as we begin the last month of the year.
Jack
