Marty Katz update

Thanks to all of you who have been checking in on Marty Katz’s status after his very serious cycling accident. I know that many of you do not know Marty, but this was the only way I could get the word out. As previously reported, Marty was a regular with us for many years and only switched to biking in the last year or two.

When I got home from my run (if I dare call it that!) I had an e-mail from Marty’s wife, Robin, who essentially reported that Marty remains in bad shape and may stay in ICU for quite a while. I have signed up on the website, which you can visit in two easy ways.

1. Visit the CaringBridge website by clicking the link below.

2. Enter the website name, martykatzrecovery, at www.CaringBridge.org.

Please continue praying for Marty and his family and give him your moral support.

Today’s Run

My count today was eleven people, and that included two visitors from the Midwest—Marin, a college student from Minneapolis and, Neil, her boyfriend’s father from Chicago . Neil said that he was blown away by Winter Park and wants his wife to see it.

Happy Birthday, Sultana!

Sultana shared with me that her birthday is this week—I believe Tuesday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Sultana. She is celebrating, in part, by training for the Space Coast Half Marathon , her first I believe.

Marathon Corner

Dylan is in Providence RI and probably through his marathon today! Let us know how it all went, Dylan.

Called Bob from my cell phone on Park Avenue after our run this morning. He was getting ready to fly off the Ireland , where he will run the Dublin Marathon one week tomorrow. This is exciting, since it is a three generational affair with his daughter and grand daughter. Good Luck, Bob, from all of us.

Jack
