August 8 Run

We had a relatively sparse turnout this morning, but it was an unusually interesting day.  Three people were new to the group and Geralynn made it over from Viera to join us.  We welcomed Juliane and Mike for their first runs, plus another young man whose identify remains a mystery.

Jon Hughes and Corey turned out for the first time in a while. Jon has finally licked an injury which took him out of commission for a spell after his stellar performance in the last Boston Marathon.

In addition we had the company of Tammy and Courtney, two lovely young ladies who were passing out Mix I enhanced protein shakes. Tammy is an organizer of a new running group in Titusville and would like to have her group join us one of these Sundays.

Have I got a deal for you!

I will have complimentary tickets to the House of Blues available on the next two Sunday mornings (August 15 and August 22)  The tickets are for Saturday, August 28th.  My son Matt's combo heads a show featuring several local groups.  Since the rest of my family will be visiting from MD, we hope to be out in force that night. If you are interested, please let me know ASAP how many tickets you would like.  I will do my best to oblige.

Hope to see some of you next Saturday for the first Grand Prix race of the season—the Celebration of Running 5K, or next Sunday—or both!  By then, I will be another year older. (Hitting 76 on Wednesday!) This on the heels of Mary & I celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary two days ago!!

Have a great week!

Jack
