August 29 Run

A really nice turnout this morning, along with a slightly moderating temperature and a light breeze.  Eighteen people showed up with a nice gender balance.

We extended a warm welcome to Felipe, a honeymooner visiting from Brazil.  Felipe graciously presented me with two running shirts from Brazil.  We, in turn, presented Felipe with an ORC shirt.!  He turned out to be a great guy and is our first visitor from South America!

This adds a fourth continent on our list of foreign visitors. (Europe, Australia, Asia and South America)

I was sorely tempted to sleep in this morning since I got to bed at 2:00 AM after spending the evening at the House of Blues (where Junkie Rush was the featured act).  Always have to support our kids, right?

Wendy also was there after 20 miles Saturday morning with Marathonfest.  Congratulations, Wendy!  Looked for but could not find Sabrina in the crowd.  Mark also made it out but had to get young ones home to bed at a reasonable hour.

Have a great week and join the fun next week.

PS:  Found out that Seth did another killer race, but don't know which one.  Please check in Seth, and congratulations!

Quick refresher that may prove useful. Celsius to Fahrenheit. Basically, double the celsius temp and add 32. i.e. 100 degrees C = 232 degrees F. I couldn't remember the formula on sunday and it bugged me the entire day.

Whose up for 10 miles on 9/5? I haven't done 10 in awhile, but the weather's a little more bearable. So, I thought it would be worth a shot. You name the pace. Just building my base miles. We can take a long break @ Seth's, glenridge, and Rollins.
