Today's Run
Magic unfolded this morning as a group of several people gathered just before 7:00AM morphed into a group of 20 people in just a few minutes. People seemed to emerge out of nowhere and among them were faces we haven't seen in a while. Brad and Jorge brought a friend. Marty's friend Scott joined us again. John appeared after a long absence. Good to see you all!
Also joining us for the first time was my 8 year old grand daughter Sophie who impromptu cajoled me into coming out to run this morning. She lasted 1.5 miles before the wheels came off. Sophie did her first ever 5K with me yesterday and looks destined to be a fine runner.

Gina reported in on her way to D.C. for a 10 miler and time with family there. Gina is hoping to join us for the Blanket Run on November 3rd. We look forward to seeing you, Gina! It has been a long time!
Katy Widrick's First Run with the group last Sunday
Katy is the Executive Producer of Growing Bolder TV where her main job is to produce the Growing Bolder TV Show. Katy has been on our mailing list for several months, but only made it out last Sunday for her first run with the group. She ran with her daughter Audrey whose first birthday was last Sunday.
Katy recorded her impression of the run on her blog and hopes to be back for our blanket collection run on November 3. You can find Katy's report at:

Blanket Collection on November 3
Two weeks today, runners in our community will gather for our Sixth Annual Blanket Collection. You can check out the Park Press website to see the content of the press release I have put out.
To my dismay, I discovered yesterday that the ORC leadership has failed to promote the drive to its membership list or on the ORC website. I am in the process of dealing with this mess and expect that you will see something on this tomorrow if you are an ORC member.
In the meantime, I know that the other running groups in town have gotten the word out and have collection plans in place. The
I'm attaching a copy of the press release. Feel free to use your imagination with it!
Sorry for the long-winded report! Have a great week.
