September 15 Run

Yesterday's 5K race

1564 runners completed the second race in the Track Shack Series and 60% of the finishers were female.  It was hot and humid, but the course was pleasant. The only persons in our group whom I saw were Rose (who placed) and Abby.

Helene's West Coast Disney adventure

"My two friends and I finished and got our 3 medals for Dumbo Double Dare and coast to coast as well!  On to training for Tower of Terror next in the midst of Dopey training!

Congratulations, Helene!

Today's Run

Tis the season!  We had a turnout of 20 today, counting Cheryl's dog Pumpkin, and including Rich, a runner whom I met at yesterday's race. I found him in the company of our six female runners at the Mile 4 water stop.  I'm sure he will be back again!

Thoughts worth pondering

If you want to read about the power of a marathon in promoting peace in the Middle East, I urge you to watch the following video:

The link above came from Arwa, who is of Lebanese descent, a marathoner and a Pediatric Cardiologist.  The clip was very interesting to me since I lived in Beirut for several years.

I also am attaching a write-up from Arwa on congenital heart disease.

Colorado Floods

I contacted Colorado Jack about the flooding in his state. His home is safe, but the B&B I stayed in last year had some flooding recently. Jack hopes to see us in January.

Have a great week.  Hope to see some of you at Saturday's 15K.

Jack
