Today's Run
We had a healthy turnout of some 20 people, a number of whom began early to beat today's ugly 79 degree temperature at 7:00 AM. We witnessed the return of Dylan from his RI vacation. Ralph was back with after a several week absence due to an abdominal issue. We welcomed two new faces, one of whom is a friend of Luis.
Yesterday's races
The big news is that both Wendy and
"Well, Wendy and I both survived and made it to the top. It was a beautiful day for the race, 57 deg. on top and no wind! I was slower than last year (4:28), and Wendy was a little slower that she wanted to be also, but we both got to the top! The top three miles of this race are brutal, all above timberline (12,000 ft) and following ten miles with approximately a 6,000 ft elevation gain. Oh well, it is always a great feeling at the top, we got 'er done and got a nice shirt to add to the collection!"
Congratulations to you Wendy and Jack! What a challenge!
Closer to home, the first of the Track Shack Race series also took place yesterday. I was able to account for only Rose and myself being there. Did anyone else run?
