July 21 Run

Today's Run

We had a healthy turnout of 16 people today.  We welcomed Russ back into the fold after a one year absence because of injury.  Good to see you, Russ!  I ended up replacing Russ by injuring my hamstring this week.  Bummer!  Ralph checked in by e-mail to inform me he also is side-lined for a bit on doctor's orders.  Hope you have a fast turnaround, Ralph.

Dylan is off to Rhode Island on vacation for a couple of weeks and will be doing two races while there.  Good luck, Dylan!  Speaking of races, I have posted below a list of who's doing what during the upcoming season. So far, we have 13 people signed up for 13 different races ranging from 10 miles to marathon distance.  Seth has not reported in, so I assume this list will grow significantly if and when he does.

Luke, our newest addition, ran with us again today.  I am helping him and wife Bronte find a group most appropriate to their running pace.  Next week I am trying to team them up with our sister group which runs from Morse Blvd.  Luke also is exploring Marathonfest, and I had the opportunity to introduce him to the Sunday Marathonfest group this morning at Paneras.

Christine reports that she attended the course for women on safe running.  Sounds like it was a worthwhile endeavor.

I am expecting our second visitor from the Dominican Republic next Sunday.  We also had a no-show out of town visitor today.

Have a great week!

Jack
